Maroussi and Panionios scored important home victories for the A1 on Sunday, adding to the relegation worries of Ilisiakos and Iraklis.
David Huertas was the hero in the 80-75 win of Maroussi over bottom side Ilisiakos, as he registered 21 points, including some crucial free throws in the end, as well as six rebounds and three assists.
Maroussi are now joint fourth with 17 points from 11 games, along with Kolossos, Kavala and PAOK.
Panionios secured a much-needed victory over Iraklis with a 94-76 score at Nea Smyrni to leave the Thessaloniki side second from bottom in the standings.
In what was probably his last game with Panionios, before moving to Partizan belgrade, Milos Vujanic scored 26 points for Panionios.
This was Iraklis's first match with Giorgos Kalafatakis on the bench, following the resignation of Darko Russo.
