President of Cyprus Demetris Christofias urged Egypt not to change its policy on Greece and Cyprus.
"Egypt has always been a significant support for Greece and Cyprus in the region of the Middle East, as a leader country, a major country in the region. I hope that this policy does not change because our neighbours, the occupation force in Cyprus, is spreading wings everywhere with the technique of Islamism," Christofias said after his meeting with Karolos Papoulias.
The Cyprus President noted that he discussed those issues also with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, whom he met before his talks with Papoulias.
"We are coordinating ourselves and I believe this is necessary. We hope that the policy that will ensue will not divert from that which we are accustomed to," he added.
Papoulias also expressed interest in the developments in the energy sector.
