Greece, Israel eye closer cooperation in farm sector

Greece and Israel are seeking closer cooperation in the agricultural sector, Agricultural Development & Food Minister Costas Skandalidis said after the completion of an official visit to Israel.

He added that the climate of cooperation was excellent and announced plans for the creation of logistics terminals for farm products in northern Greece. The agreement is expected to be signed during an inter-governmental summit in Israel next April.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of applied agricultural research and a "road map" for developing bilateral relations in several sectors of farm production.
