Teodosic voted best player in Europe

Olympiakos point-guard Milos Teodosic was voted Europe’s best basketball player for 2010.

Fans surprisingly chose
the Serb international ahead of Spanish NBA star Pau Gasol, who was the choice of a panel of experts by FIBA Europe.

Yet Teodosic edge him as fans opted for the 23-year-old who led Olympiakos to winning the Greek Cup and to the final of the Euroleague, while sinking no other than Spain the quarterfinal of the World Championship with a late three-pointer.

Gasol, the Los Angeles Lakers forward, had won the award in the last couple of years.

Teodosic had a great World Championship last summer, with an average scoring record of 11.3 points per game, but a month earlier he had been the protagonist in a massive brawl in the game against Greece at the Acropolis tournament in Athens.
