Greece toughens sanctions for corrupt tax officials

Greece on Friday toughened laws punishing corrupt tax
officials in an effort to fight rampant tax evasion ahead of a euro zone summit expected to press Athens to step up reforms.Shortfalls in tax collection are a key weakness for Greece as it battles to shore up its finances under the terms of an EU/IMF bailout, while the lack of sanctions for corruption makes it hard for many ordinary Greeks to accept austerity measures.
