Despite keeping the subject of the book secret, she has revealed to some close friends that she likes Thessaloniki very much and that she finds that city very interesting. Hislop is at the moment isolated in her house in Great Britain, where she is writing her new book. However, she still keeps contact with our country, especially with young people via technology. A lot of times she has made skype calls to schools in Athens, Thessaloniki and Crete of course, talking to the students and explaining the secrets of writing. She has also referred to the “island” and how she experienced her visit to that place. She has described her strong feelings when she visited Spinalonga, but she has also admitted the fact that Crete has stolen her mind and heart.
