3 arrested in theft of explosives from Greek Navy minesweepers

Three people, including a junior naval officer, were arrested
Tuesday over the theft of explosives from two Greek navy minesweepers, authorities said.
The explosives, described as "sabotage material," were reported missing on April 6, and the navy and police announced the arrests of the 29-year-old junior naval officer and two Greek civilians, aged 36 and 48, on Tuesday.
The three face charges of illegal possession of explosives, possession of proceeds of a crime, and violation of the Greek weapons possession law.
The navy said in a statement that an investigation into the theft did not reveal any link to terrorist acts or terrorist organizations.
Several far-left and anarchist groups are active in Greece, with most carrying out small-scale bombings.
