ATHEX: Consultations on the amendment of rulebook

The administration of the Athens Exchange promotes changes in the
classification of the listed companies and the composition of indices.

Moreover, Athens Exchanges plans to abolish Big, Medium & Small Capitalization categories and adopt a new market model, with the creation of a single, general listing category for stocks is being considered, with common listing criteria.

Thus, the board of directors decided to begin consultations on the amendment of the Athens Exchange Rulebook.
FTSE/ATHEX 20 will be renamed too FTSE/ATHEX Big Cap, with the participating shares being increased. On the contrary, the amount of companies in FTSE/ATHEX Mid Cap and FTSE/ATHEX Small Cap will be reduced. FTSE Big Cap, FTSE Mid Cap and FTSE Small Cap are considered to include 25, 20 and 15 listed companies respectively.

Finally, another category of proposed changes, concerns the introduction of specific provisions for companies delisting from ATHEX, and the readjustment of certain conditions for being transferred to Special Trading Categories.

In accordance with the procedures that are in place, a Commission for the modification of the Athens Exchange Rulebook will be set up, and there will be a consultation period for the abovementioned matters for market participants. The final proposal on the modifications of the Rulebook will be submitted to the BoD in May 2011.
