Government's MPs Oppose Finmin's Bill, Force Revised Proposal in Mini-Apostasy

Greece's finance minister suffered a defeat in Parliament, when
members of his own party voted down proposed legislation for a gambling bill. The defeat, is another sign of growing unrest and strife within the ruling Socialist's own party, and could have caused a political crisis, had Greek media not been on a four-day strike.
The setback for Greek finmin George Papaconstantinou forces the Greek government will revise a proposed law on liberalizing gambling after ruling party politicians complained it could turn the cash-strapped country into a vast casino, members of parliament said on Thursday.
