Hellenic Petroleum administration is not asking employees to accept a reduction in their salaries, but to increase productivity from 38 to hours a week, CEO G. Kostopoulos said on the sidelines of a presentation.
On Thursday, the administration will appeal against a decision, which found statutory the 10-day strike by employees. The appeal is expected to be heard on Friday.
However, it is estimated that an agreement is possible for the two sides, which are expected to sit on the negotiating table after the strike.
Group’s head Tasos Giannitsis stated that no one benefits from this situation.
Regarding to the market, it records a declining course, although March was slightly improved, compared with the -20% decline in the first two months of the year.
The forecasts, however, refer to a further drop in consumption in both 2011 and 2012, which will reduce state revenue.
