Handball: Vrilissia win Greek cup

Vrilissia won the men's Greek Cup for the first time after 15 years on Sunday, denying AEK their first ever double.
The northern Athens side defeated the champions 19-18 in a very tight final at Hania that was as riveting as it was unpredictable.
AEK were on top in the first half, leading 8-4. Vrilissia began their fight-back to reduce the deficit to one goal (9-8) at half-time, and kept scoring as AEK could not find the target in a number of efforts.
With the score at 16-12 in favour of Vrilissia, AEK made a last-gasp effort and thought they had equalised right at the death, but their goal came just after the final whistle, which gave the trophy to outsider Vrilissia.
In the semifinals on Saturday Vrilissia had beaten Diomidis Argous 29-19 and AEK had eliminated Filippos Verias with a 27-23 score.
Vrilissia last won the Greek Cup in 1996.
