Police operation underway to catch armed robbers

A police operation was underway in the inner-city district of Agios Panteleimonas in Athens on Monday evening in order to arrest two armed robbers believed to have taken refuge in an abandoned house on the corner of Fylis and Smyrnis streets.

The two men are suspects for an armed robbery targeting a foreign national that took place at 61 Aristotelous Street in Athens at 5:30 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, eye-witnesses said the robbers had taken refuge in the abandoned house and the area was cordoned off in order to search the house and determine whether the robbers are inside.
