Beos and Tsakogiannis are imprisoned - Psomiadis released on bail

Olympiakos Volou president Achilleas Beos, Ilioupoli owner Giorgos Tsakogiannis and bookmaker Vassilis Karakoulias are the three men to have been imprisoned pending the trial for the match-fixing scandal rocking the Greek game.

The three men have serious charges against them and the authorities deemed on Monday their custody essential for fear of their flight abroad.

Beos was taken to Nafplio prison and Tsakogiannis to that of Trikala, while Karakoulias was not taken to the Grevena prison as he suffered a heart attack and was taken to an Athens hospital instead on Tuesday.

Bookmaker Vassilis Geortsiakos, who was arrested a day after the rest of the suspects, will appear before the authorities on Wednesday.

Seven more men were released on bail on Monday, including Kavala president Stavros Psomiadis. His father, Makis as well as two more men who have an arrest warrant against them have signaled they turn themselves in soon.

The question now is whether Olympiakos Volou will also be considered responsible for the actions of their president and be prevented from entering the Europa League second qualifying round next month.

Meanwhile more and more tapped conversations are emerging from the prosecutors' files, implicating more people into the scandal such as Hellenic Football Federation president Sofoklis Pilavios and PAOK president Thodoris Zagorakis.
