General strike on Wednesday, June 15 - (updated on Tuesday, June 14)

















Greece's main public sector union, ADEDY, will join private sector sister union GSEE in a nationwide strike on Wednesday, June 15. 





Workers at Greek state firms on 24-hour strike
Telecoms firm OTE 
Energy utility PPC (ΔΕΗ) 
TT Post Savings Bank 
Ports: Greek maritime unions on 24 -hour strike Ferries will remain docked
(Ferries to/from Italy unaffected)
Water utility (ΕΥΔΑΠ)


Tax offices, Customs offices, Courthouses and all public sector offices closed


State hospitals to take emergency cases only




Civil aviation strike suspended- updated June 14
Flights to and from Greece's regional airports will be carried out as scheduled on June 15 after suspension of a 24-hour strike called by the civil aviation employees' union 


Banks, post offices, archaeological sites and museums closed



Businesses and shops closed from 12.00 to 15.00
(many businesses and shops do not participate because they lose revenue)


Athens Electric rail (ISAP) to work from 8.00 till midnight



Athens tram to work from 6.00 till midnight

Athens trolleys to work from 8.00 to 22.00

Athens metro to work as scheduled
Athens Metro will be operating only to Doukissis Plakentias station, and will not serve traffic on the section to and from Athens International Airport, as that section belongs to the jurisdiction of Ose. Use 'X' buses to Athens airport from 9.00 to 21.00 or take a taxi

Athens buses to work from 9.00 to 21.00 - includes 'X' buses to the airport 
KTEL- long distance buses are not affected by strikes

Thessaloniki buses will only run from 8.00 to 21.00 

Rail services (including the Athens suburban railway - Proastiakos) will be suspended for 24 hours
