Greek government spokesman, Giorgos Petalotis, was scheduled to speak at a party event at Alexoupoleos street in Argyroupoli, Athens tonight.
Shortly after 9 pm he was attacked with yoghurt and eggs by approximately fifty people who had gathered at the entrance to the building.
Riot police arrived swiftly, detaining some of the protestors. Petalotis fled from the side entrance. A big crowd of people were still outside, chanting.
