New Finance Minister To Deal With 10 Hot Issues
In the next 10 days, the new government scheme is called to implement 10 critical and complex interventions:
1. The reshuffle is expected to delay the debate of the medium-term program in the House. However, there is no time, because lenders anticipate its voting in order to proceed with the negotiation of new loan.
2. The announcement of specific laws is still pending, scheduled for early July.
3. Negotiations on the new loan deal will resume on Sunday at an extraordinary meeting of the Eurogroup.
4. Greece should raise €400m through the sale of OTE in order to convince markets of its intentions to accelerate privatizations.
5. The troika is seriously concerned about the situation in the Greek banking sector that is undergoing stress tests.
6. The Memorandum of Understanding provides that Greece should complete the absorption of €1.1b through the National Strategic Reference Framework by the end of June.
7. The analytical report on the payroll of the public sector and results of the actuarial studies for the funds are still pending.
8. The new list of arduous and unhealthy occupations should be implemented by July 1.
9. SOEs should finalize detailed plans for restructuring.
10. Many interventions to support the market are still pending.
