The Athens public prosecutor's decision to investigate allegations of excessive use of force by the police during recent public protests in Athens is a positive step, Human Rights Watch said today. The government should conduct a parallel review of police tactics during the protests to ensure that future operations do not interfere with the right to protest peacefully, Human Rights Watch said.
