Olympiakos Volou advance in Europa League

Olympiakos Volou drew 1-1 with Rad Belgrade at home on Thursday to advance to the third qualifying round of the Europa League with a 2-1 aggregate score.

The Greek debutants in Europe suffered a shock when Nemanja Kojic gave the Serbs a 1-0 lead on the night to level the score on aggregate at the 47th minute at the Panthessaliko Stadium of Volos.

It took the Greek side half an hour to equalise, as Juan Martin scored from the penalty spot at the 77th minute to make it 1-1 and give Olympiakos Volou the ticket to the next round.

The hosts finished the game with 10 men as Khalifa Sankare was red-carded five minutes from time.

The next challenge for the players of coach Javi Gracia is Differdange of Luxembourg, with the first match away on July 28.
