Greek Super League Results
Olympiakos and AEK are yet to start in the Super League, allowing Panathinaikos to go alone on top of the Super League on Sunday with two wins from as many games.
On another weekend with just five games out of eight, as the Xanthi vs AEK match was postponed because many Xanthi-based police officers were sent to Thessaloniki for the Prime Minister’s visit, the Greens defeated PAS Yiannina 3-1 at the Olympic Stadium.
Playing on Sunday in front of 15,000 fans Panathinaikos had Josu Sarriegi, Toche and Sebastian Leto on the scoresheet. Ibrahima Bakayoko pulled one back for PAS.
Ergotelis and Atromitos defeated their Thessaloniki opponents to climb to four points in two games. Ergotelis came from 1-0 down to beat 10-man PAOK 2-1 at home on Saturday, with goals coming from Sergio Leal and Mario Budimir, after Sotiris Balafas had given PAOK the lead.
On Sunday Atromitos had Costas Mitroglou to thank for his goal at Aris, who also ended the game with 10 men.
In other matches Panionios beat Panetolikos away 1-0 via a Njazi Kuqi strike, to get to four points, too, while Asteras Tripolis and Kerkyra shared a goalless draw.
On Wednesday Panetolikos will face Asteras Tripolis for the first round of games.
