A joint ministerial decision issued by the ministers of finance and health allows casinos and music night clubs larger than 300m2 to create a smoking area smaller than ½ of their space, it was announced on Friday.
Based on Law No. 3986/2011 article 45, the above-mentioned enterprises will have to pay an annual fee of 200 euros per square meter no later than Nov. 30, 2011.
If they choose to renew their smoking area license next year, entrepreneurs will have to pay a special fee no later than May 31. Exclusively for the present year, the annual fee will be paid to local tax offices.
