Greek PM 'optimistic' eurozone can overcome its difficulties

New Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos said Wednesday he was "optimistic" that the eurozone could overcome its debt crisis, as he sought support from lawmakers for his new unity government.

"I am optimistic that the eurozone will overcome its current difficulties despite differences between member countries ... and its leaders will take the decisions necessary to ensure credibility and to stabilise the banking system," he said, shortly before a vote of confidence he won.
