Inflation rose by 3.0 percent in October 2011 against October 2010, the independent Hellenic Statistical Authority (Elstat) said on Wednesday.
Elstat, in a report, said that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October 2011 compared with October 2010, increased by 3.0%. In October 2010, the annual rate of change of the CPI was 5.2%.
The CPI in October 2011 compared with September 2011 increased by 01%. In October 2010, the monthly rate of change of the CPI was 0.2%.
In the twelve-month period from November 2010 to October 2011 compared with the period from November 2009 to October 2010 the annual average rate of change of the CPI was 3.7%. The corresponding annual average rate of change of the CPI in the previous year (November 2009 to October 2010), was 4.3%.
Elstat also reported that the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) in October 2011 compared with October 2010 increased by 2.9%. In October 2010, the annual rate of change of the HICP was 5.2%.
The HICP in October 2011 compared with September 2011, increased by 0.1%. In October 2010, the monthly rate of change of the HICP was also 0.1%.
In the twelve-month period from November 2010 to October 2011 compared with the period from November 2009 to October 2010, the annual average rate of change of the HICP was 3.5%. The previous year, in the corresponding twelve - month period, the annual average rate of change of the HICP was 4.3%.
