Greek seamen are to embark on a rolling 48-hour
strike Monday to protest austerity reforms.
The strike, which is expected to last until Thursday, will see ships and ferries remaining anchored at ports across the country.
The seamen are demanding continued state funding for their pensions and collective labour contracts for 2012.
The Panhellenic Seamen‘s Federation said ferry services will be disrupted until at least Thursday.
The strike was announced after negotiations between the union and Development and Merchant Marine Minister Anna Diamantopoulou and Labour Minister Giorgos Koutroumanis broke down.
