The Greek finance minister, Yannis Stournaras, submits the 2013 budget bill to a parliamentary vote on Wednesday as demonstrators begin flocking to central Athens to protest over further austerity measures included in the bill. Residents from northern Greece protest the rising costs of heating oil as prices reach €1.40 (£1.10) a litre.
