Producer Price Index in Industry Rose By 5.9% In November

The Producer Price Index in Industry (PPI) in November 2010 recorded a rise of 5.9% compared with November 2009, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority.

The index in November 2009 had recorded an increase of 1.0% compared with November 2008.

Moreover, the PPI in November 2010 compared with October 2010 recorded a rise of 1.3%. The index in November 2009 had recorded an increase of 0.4% compared with October 2009.

The twelve-month average index, from December 2009 to November 2010, compared with the same index of the period from December 2008 to November 2009, increased by 6.5%. The previous year the twelve-month average index had decreased by 6.5%.

1. Monthly rates of change of November 2010 compared with October 2010.

Prices in total industry in November 2010 increased by 1.3% compared with the previous month, October 2010, due to the monthly changes of the sub-indices of the markets:

a. The PPI for the Domestic Market grew by 1.4%.

b. The PPI for the Non-Domestic Market grew by 1.2%.

2. Annual rates of change of November 2010 compared with November 2009.

Prices in total industry in November 2010 increased by 5.9% compared with the same month of the previous year, November 2009, due to the annual changes of the sub-indices of the markets:

a. The PPI for the Domestic Market grew by 5.4%.

b. The PPI for the Non-Domestic Market grew by 7.8%.
