Timeline: Urban guerrilla attacks in Greece in 2010

Here is a timeline of guerrilla group attacks in Greece in 2010.

Feb 16, 2010 - A bomb explodes outside the Athens offices of U.S. bank JP Morgan, causing minor damage. No group has claimed responsibility.

March 19-20 - Makeshift bombs explode outside a police detention center, the home of a leading member of the Pakistani community in Greece
and the far-right, nationalist Golden Dawn group in Athens. The anti-state Fire Conspiracy Cells later claim responsibility for all three small attacks.

March 29 - A 15-year-old boy is killed and his mother and sister injured when a bomb explodes outside a building belonging to an association for business management in Athens.

April 11 - Police arrest six people suspected of belonging to a group known as Revolutionary Struggle. Prosecutors have charged them with participating in bomb attacks, participating in a terrorist group, attempted murder and other crimes. The accused have denied any wrongdoing.

May 13 - A bomb explodes outside the Korydallos prison, the main prison in Athens, injuring two people and damaging shops and homes.

May 14 - A bomb goes off at a courthouse in Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki. No one is injured.

June 24 - An aide to the Civil Protection Minister Mihalis Chrysohoidis is killed in a blast at the minister's office. A wrapped package had exploded in the aide's hands on the seventh floor of the building.

July 19 - Leftist guerrillas shoot dead Sokratis Giolias, in the Athens suburb of Ilioupoli, the first killing of a journalist in Greece in more than 20 years. The Rebel Sect group claimed responsibility on July 27.

November 1-4 - Fourteen parcel bombs are found, sent to embassies in Greece and from Greece to foreign governments abroad including Chancellor Angela Merkel's office in Berlin. A parcel addressed to the Mexican embassy in Athens explodes in a courier office, wounding an employee, and small bombs explode at the Swiss and Russian embassies in Athens.Police arrest two Greeks in possession of bombs -- one of whom is suspected of being a member of the Fire Conspiracy Cells.

The Fire Conspiracy Cells claim responsibility in a statement on November 25.

December 30 - A makeshift explosive device explodes on a motorbike parked outside the Athens courthouse, the facade of which is damaged by the blast. No-one is injured.
