The situation inside the School seems to be defusing. After many hour-long meetings the rector administration reached an agreement with four NGOs for the transportation of the immigrants to a building in Athens this morning.
As it became known from the chairman of the Conference of Rectors Theodoros Papatheodorou, the building meets all the hygiene and safety regulations. If the talks with the migrants succeed, they will be transferred in that building today.
Earlier, according to governmental circles, the relevant ministers seemed unwilling to legalize any immigrants. They indicated: «Within a short time we have set the conditions to coordinate immigration policy after the inaction of the ND governmental decree. With the revision of immigration law 3386/05 we beat the black work incorporating the European directive. This occupation is brutal and coercive. It triggers polarization and is bad for immigrants. With these practices the real problems get obscured. The academic community has to protect the asylum and the rule of law. We do not succumb to violence».

Meanwhile, after a long governmental meeting the PM gave direct mandates for immediate solution and law implementation.
Papandreou had launched an attack on the Left saying «Left and progress are not lawlessness… it is not investing in a screwed-up society, rejoice with images of destruction that travel around the world».
The rector of the University of Athens T. Pelegrinis had also asked for a peaceful solution without measures of force, and repeated that there are attempts for a consensus while there is no issue for lifting the asylum.
The positions of KKE and SYRIZA
From her side, the general secretary of KKE Aleka Papariga had asked the government to announce measures in favor of the immigrants while the president of the PG of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras said that «our crisis is not the immigrants fault».
Finally, once again, governmental circles cleared that every chance of a peaceful solution will be exhausted and the police will only intervene in case of criminal behavior.
