In a statement on Thursday, the National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Keelpno) said that a total of eight people have died from the H1N1 flu virus in Greece, after two deaths recorded over the past 24 hours.
Another nine people were hospitalised in Intensive Care Units due to serious complications from flu-caused infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 54.
Of those, 28 were still in ICUs, while the other 26 are out of danger and have been moved to other hospital wards or have returned home.
