Omnibus bill for health issues to be tabled on Wednesday

Health Minister Andreas Loverdos announced that an omnibus bill on health issues will be tabled in Parliament on Wednesday. He said the final draft bill will not include changes to issues concerning pharmacists, who have closed pharmacies for three days in protest against the proposed measures to further liberalise their profession.

He noted, however, that issues that had concerned pharmacists - such as granting licences to open pharmacies to people without qualifications as a pharmacist or pharmacy department stores - were not being considered.
