A very strange case of the arrest of a young man by police is being investigated by the anti-terrorist unit.
The fact that the young man was arrested with a Glock 9mm gun, a hand grenade and a fake id, is building up rumours that the person arrested is in the circles of guerilla city terrorism that might already match profiles of wanted persons.
With the young man that is between 22-25 years old there was a second person that managed to escape and loose himself in the alleys of the area. Sources say that the anti-terrorist unit has raised a red alert in order for information to come forward as to whether the man is related to terrorism or not.
The arrest occurred after 2 o clock in the area of Nea Kifisia behind the building of the Road Police offices. Police officers from the DIAS team saw two young men to suspicioucly move around the building and they approached them to ask for id’s. They started running and there was a mini-puirsuit that led to one of them being arrested.
The fact that the one was in possession of weapons as well as a handcamera that had footage of the police station shows that this is not a case to be taken lightly that is most probably linked to terrorism.
A police officer stated in protothema.gr that “we suspect this man is already wanted but before we find out his identification we cannot be sure of anything”.
