President Karolos Papoulias on Wednesday received environment, energy and climate change minister Tina Birbili, who briefed him on the management plan that is currently being drafted for Lake Pamvotida in the Epirus region of Greece, where the President comes from.
Papoulias also asked the minister to help in resolving the problems faced by the coastal town of Schinia, outside Athens.
Birbili, in turn, explained that there were a large number of agencies involved in the matter, including the Forestry authority, the environment and culture ministries, and the local peripheral authority and surrounding municipalities, noting that there were many problems that need to be solved.
