Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) Parliamentary group leader Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday tabled a question in Parliament for the prime minister concerning what he called "savage" rises in the prices of public transport fares and road tolls as of February, combined with a rise in public utility rates.
He called on Prime Minister George Papandreou to take measures to avert a rise in fares and attempts to privatise public transport, while asking whether he intended to take action against construction firms charging tolls when they had failed to meet their contractual obligations.
