Big win for Panellinios over AEK

Panathinaikos predictably thrashed Peristeri away on Sunday, but the victory of Panellinios over fellow strugglers AEK was far more noteworthy.
Peristeri led 7-0 at the start of the game, but that was as far as they
could challenge the champions, who then ran riot to lead by as many as 22 points at half-time (47-25).
Eventually Panathinaikos won 89-64 as they dropped a gear in the second half, with coach Zeljko Obradovic giving some more playing time to his reserves.
Panellinios were the winners of the day, though, as they edged closer to safety through their 68-59 home win at Lamia.
AEK were on top at the first half, which ended 32-29 in their favour, but the hosts came back to snatch the win led by 20 points from Steven Smith.
The victory for the Eurocup challengers put AEK in further trouble as the Athens side are now level on points with Ilisiakos, who are in the relegation zone.
