Easy Jet launches Scotland’s only direct route to Athens

Easy Jet today announced three exciting new routes from Edinburgh Airport, including the country’s only direct route to Athens.

The low fares airline will begin flying to Athens, Tenerife and Grenoble from September.

The new destinations bring the number of easyJet routes from Scotland to 41.

Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s commercial manager for Scotland, said:

“easyJet is excited to announce the launch of three fantastic new routes including Scotland’s only direct route to Athens, connecting Edinburgh - the Athens of the north - to the Greek capital.

“We are responding to customer demand, providing an even greater choice of city, sun and ski destinations from Edinburgh and further strengthening our position as Scotland’s favourite airline.”

The new routes will be serviced by the arrival of a new 180-seat Airbus A320 at Edinburgh Airport.

The three times weekly service to Athens commences on 20th September, with fares from £36.99 (one way).
