Greek PPI up 7.3% in January

Greece’s Producer Price Index in the industrial sector (measuring both the domestic and external markets) grew 7.3 percent in January this year, compared with the same month in 2010, after an increase of 5.8 percent recorded in January 2010, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Monday. 
 
The statistics service report attributed this development to a 6.8 percent increase in the domestic market index and a 9.4 percent rise in the external market index. The producer price index rose 0.9 percent in January 2011 from December 2010, after an increase of 1.2 percent recorded in the corresponding period last year.
