Iran's cultural week starts in Athens

Iran's Cultural and Tourism Week kicked off its work in Athens on Saturday
evening, IRNA reported.
Iran's Ambassador to Greece Mehdi Honardoust officially inaugurated the ceremony in Athens Royal Olympic Hotel.
In his opening speech, the ambassador referred to Iran's achievements in different fields during the past 32 years.
In part of his speech, Honardoust said that the two countries of Iran and Greece have a rich, historical, and cultural background which can be used in direction of national interests of the both countries.
He added that Iran under leadership of Supreme Leader of Islamic revolution has been able to reach the peaks of new sciences and technologies and turn into a powerful country in the region and in the world.
The ambassador expressed hope that holding the cultural week could be a beginning for developing ties between the two civilized nations of Iran and Greece.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, an exhibition of Iran's handicrafts was held, too.
