Panionios reached the semifinals of LEN Trophy on Wednesday by drawing at home with Slovenian side Koper, having beaten them away in the first leg.
The Nea Smyrni club drew 9-9 after a rather mediocre performance, but had the cushion of the four-goal win in Slovenia (12-8) to fall back on.
The draw for the semifinals will take place on Tuesday, February 8, with the
Greeks hoping to avoid Italian giants Savona.
In the Euroleague, Olympiakos ended their disappointing campaign on a high, as they registered their only victory t the group stage on Wednesday.
The Reds defeated visiting Barcelona 11-7 to get their only three points in the group, still finishing last, one point behind third-placed Barcelona.
The Olympiakos players who have not been paid for several months decided after the game to begin a strike, starting with Saturday's league game against Vouliagmeni at home.
Greek international Antonis Vlontakis even stated after the match that "this may have been my last game for Olympiakos".
