Tsiolis leaves Olympiakos Volou

Olympiakos Volou announced on Monday the end of their cooperation with successful coach Sakis Tsiolis.
In an ironic statement the Volos club announced Tsiolis was leaving, wishing him "that in the rest of his career he gets to work in a bigger club than Olympiakos Volou with better conditions."
This followed the wishes expressed by Tsiolis to rival Thessaly club Larissa a week earlier to avoid relegation, right after his side beat them 2-1 away, while the statement of Olympiakos Volou a couple of days later said wished for the opposite.
Tsiolis won the 1988 league title with Larissa as a player.
The last straw in the relationship between controversial Olympiakos Volou owner Achilleas Beos and Tsiolis was said to be Beos's slap on player Vicente Monje's face at the dressing room on Sunday after the 1-1 draw at home with Iraklis.
"That's it, I'm off," Tsiolis reportedly said upon witnessing the incident.
The divorce of Olympiakos Volou with the manager who took the club from the second division and brought it to the seventh spot of the Super League as well as the semifinals of the Greek Cup has divided the club's fans.
What is more, the repercussions of the Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos derby were also felt at Volos, with the city filled on Monday with flyers urging Beos to leave Volos as "you cannot turn the club into an affiliate to [Vangelis] Marinakis," in a reference to the owner of Olympiakos.
Reports have suggested Beos and Marinakis see eye to eye on many things.
