ASE opening: Small rise

Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.27 percent, standing at 1,624.51 points at 12:00 noon, and turnover at 31.558 million euros.

    Individual sector indices were mixed, with the biggest gains in Insurance, up 3.17 percent; Telecoms, up 2.67 percent; and Food & Beverage, up 2.03 percent.

    The biggest losses were in Commerce, down 2.56 percent; and Mass Media, down 2.70 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.17 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.49 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down a marginal 0.07 percent.

    Of the stocks traded, 41 were up, 42 were down, and 22 were unchanged.
