Greece calls for EU action on North Africa refugees

Over the past weeks, thousands of migrants from Tunisia and Libya have flooded financial crisis gripped Greece, the country that detained 90% of illegal immigrants to the EU in 2010.
Greek Minister of Interior Yannis Ragousis has informed that some 300 refugees went on a six-week hunger strike demanding residence permits, but the government did not curb down.
"It is not enough for Europe to give money. It has to take illegal immigrants too, to share the burden," Ragousis said in a telephone interview for the Telegraph.
Greece has also called for a joint EU tightening of maritime border patrols to prevent the flood.
