Greek Artwork Featured in Sotheby's Auction

Works made by Greek famous painters, such as Konstantinos Parthenis, John Tsarouchis and
John Moralis, will be “stoke” in the Greek Sale auction of Sotheby’s, which will take place Monday, the 9th of May, in London.
“The Resurrection” of Konstantinos Parthenis (1878-1967), is a part of the collection for the City Hall of Athens, which have been ordered by the government of Metaxas in 1939. “The Virgin and the Infant” and the “Crucifixion” are a part of the collection of the National Picture Gallery-Museum Alexander Soutzos in Athens. The work is worth between 345.000-575.000 Euros, and it is the unique work from this collection which is still in a private collection.
A very important work of John Tsarouchis will lead the spring auction. The name of the painting is “Soldier Dancing Zeimpekiko” and its price is between 345.000-575.000 Euros. The characteristic part of the painting is its scenes with sailors and soldiers. The work is a natural size portrait (190cmX70,5 cm), where Tsarouchis presents a soldier dancing on a floor with characteristic Greek motives on it.
A famous painting of John Moralis, the “Erotic” will also be auctioned and is estimated around 230.000-345.000.  Its size is 195cmX130cm and it emerges the scent of two lovers hugging, despite the geometrical abstraction of the two figures.
