Ikaros and AEK score precious wins

AEK and Ikaros Kallitheas bolstered their chances of staying up in the A1 division after their victories on March 19, although the situation is far from clear at the end of the table with five rounds of games left to play.
Olympiakos and Panathinaikos struggled to score their usual victories, as their attention was turned to their forthcoming Euroleague playoffs, starting on Tuesday.
Playing last Friday at home, Olympiakos maintained their perfect record edging out struggling Ilisiakos 73-70, just before the start of its best-of-five battle with Italy's Siena.
Panathinaikos also had problems at Thessaloniki but managed to beat Aris 75-69, before focusing on trying to oust Euroleague trophy holder Barcelona.
AEK are now level on points with Ilisiakos at the 12th spot of the table after seeing off visiting Kavala 79-64, taking advantage of the absence of Kavala's super star, Milton Palacio.
Ikaros Kallitheas put an end to the series of six losses, beating Peristeri 74-68 at home to leapfrog over Panellinios. The Lamia-based club are now 11th after losing 63-62 to PAOK at home in a thrilling game.
On Sunday Kolossos edged closer to a playoff spot defeating Panionios 83-74 away, while Maroussi stayed third after downing bottom side Iraklis 74-66.
Maroussi's Dalibor Bagaric earned the weekend's Most Valuable Player award by scoring 17 points and collecting 19 rebounds.
