Monarch launching new flights to Turkey and Greece

Monarch Airlines will expand its range of summer services this year with the introduction of new flights to the Greek island of Corfu and the Turkish holiday resort of Bodrum.

The expansion will begin on 2 May, when the carrier will begin operating two weekly connections between Manchester and Bodrum.

From 23 May, Monarch will offer two flights per week from Birmingham and Gatwick airports to Bodrum and three weekly links between Luton airport and Corfu.

Furthermore, the airline has scheduled extra services from Manchester to Tenerife, Paphos and Larnaca and from Gatwick to Tenerife, Paphos and Palma de Mallorca for the summer season.

The announcement of new routes and increased frequencies follows last month's addition of 135,000 seats to Monarch's summer programme, which has seen a 'fantastic' customer response, said managing director Kevin George.

'It's great therefore that we have been able to respond to this demand further by boosting our eastern Med programme with the introduction of new flights to Corfu and Bodrum, as well as strengthen schedules on a number of our core sunshine routes,' he added.

'Particularly pleasing is the addition of extra flights to Paphos from Gatwick and Manchester, which are not scheduled to start operating until May but are already selling strongly.'
