PAOK see off Ergotelis 2-0 in league

PAOK moved closer to the playoff spots after defeating visiting Ergotelis 2-0 on Wednesday in a game that had been postponed two weeks earlier due to the Thessaloniki club's Europa League commitments.
PAOK rebounded from their 4-0 routing at AEK on Sunday to get their first league win since January 22, at the Toumba Stadium.
Chile central defender Pablo Contreras opened the score for PAOK after 17 minutes heading the ball into the net from a Lino free-kick.
The hosts dominated play in the first half and could have made it 2-0 through former Ergotelis striker Vassilis Koutsianikoulis nine minutes from half-time.
The Iraklio side protested for a penalty on Sergio Leal at the 49th minute and saw their best chance by Maris Verpakovskis go to waste, before Stavros Tsoukalas sealed all three points for PAOK four minutes from time with a shot from close range.
The result takes PAOK to 37 points from 25 games, still in sixth position, while Ergotelis stayed ninth with 31.
