The 17th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair of Athens ART-ATHINA will take place from 12-15 May 2011 in Athens, Greece

ART-ATHINA continues its exemplary mission of promoting art,
and in particular contemporary artistic creation, making a keenly-anticipated return
with its 17th edition.

Launched in 1993 by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association, ART-ATHINA stands today as one of the longest-lasting contemporary art fairs in Europe. ART-ATHINA is the largest annual visual arts event in Greece attracting 16,000 visitors.

The Parallel Programme includes three different video-art screenings curated by the National Museum of Contemporary Art, the Onassis Cultural Centre-Athens and the QW3RTY team. The Parallel Programme also includes documentary screenings as well as a series of co-organised events, happenings and talks.

The fair is located at the shorefront of Athens, in Faliro Pavilion -a former Olympic Games venue- providing an ideal meeting ground and an intriguing business opportunity for artists, representatives of galleries and museums / cultural institutions, collectors and curators.

It is worth noting that, starting from this year, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Tourism has incorporated ART-ATHINAin its ambitious communication programme entitled ATHENS EVERY WEEK and the fair will be the central event of the1st ATHENS ART WEEK (9-15 May 2011).
