General strike on Wednesday, May 11

A nationwide general labour strike has been called for Wednesday by the country's two largest umbrella union federations in the private and public sector, GSEE and Adedy.
 
"The strike is the workers' response to the problems faced by the unemployed, the workers and the pensioners who, according to the national plan on the economy, are again the ones who are called to pay the bill," GSEE President Yiannis Panagopoulos stated, announcing the strike. 

METRO will operate from 8 am – 12 midnight
URBAN TRAIN-ISAP will operate 10 am – 5 pm
BLUE BUSES will operate 9 am – 9 pm
THESSALONIKI BUSES on 24h strike, routes will operate emergency service
TROLLEYS will operate 8 am – 10 pm
TRAM will operate 8 am – 10 pm
OSE TRAINS and SUBURBAN TRAIN-Proastiakos will not operate at all
AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS will have a work stoppage from 12 noon until 4 pm. There will be no flights during this time.
FERRIES and SHIPS will not sail
BANKS, POST OFFICES closed
JOURNALISTS are to hold a 24-hour nationwide strike the same day. The strike will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday and end on 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.
