Greece must ensure it fulfils all the terms of the aid programme agreed with the European Union and International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet was quoted as saying.
"Greece must implement the programme fully and rigorously; this is very important to correct the errors of the past and pave the way for sustainable job creation," Trichet told Aachener Zeitung in an interview to be published on Saturday, parts of which were released in advance.
He also said euro zone inflation would fall back to the central bank's target.
"Over the medium term prices increases will go back to our definition of price stability: below 2 percent, close to 2 percent," he was quoted as saying.
Inflation in the common currency region rose to 2.8 percent in April on the back of rapidly rising energy and food prices.
