Greece’s population is expected to grow from 11.3 million in January 2010 to 11.6 million in 2035 (2.7%), but will then follow a downward tendency and will reach 11.2 million in 2060 (-0.1%).

This analysis comes from Eurostat for the people of the 27 member states of the EU between 2010-2060.
According to data from the EU statistical office, in 2060 people over 80 will be 13.3% of the population of Greece, from 4.6% in 2010.
A similar fluctuation is predicted for all the European Union: From 501 million in January 2010, the population is expected to increase to 525 million in 2035 and depopulate to 517 million in 2060.
