A two-seat MIRAGE 2000 military jet crashed near the western tip of Samos island on Thursday after developing mechanical failure, but the two pilots managed to eject to safety just before the crash.
The incident took place at 1:24 p.m. as the Mirage was on a training flight.
The two pilots were retrieved by an army inflatable boat that was nearby, and are reported well in health.
