Nikos Tsonis, a member of ruling PASOK was attacked in his constituency of Lamia in central Greece on Saturday. Demonstrators threw yogurt and eggs at him while some punched and kicked him, protesting at his decision to vote for the government’s austerity program in Parliament last week.
Several other PASOK MPs have reportedly received threats since the vote.
